Just recently, the state of New York proudly enacted a wicked law to protect and expand the murder of preborn children in the state all the way up to birth. It was a brazen display of evil. It is a middle finger in the face of God and reveals the murderous agenda of the left. Even still, it is not something brand new. All 50 states still license the murder of preborn children from conception. Our nation is pleading with God to give it judgment.
So how should Christians respond to this act by New York especially in light of the fact that all other states allow abortion? On my (Pastor Joseph) personal facebook page I posted two somewhat lengthy posts that I want to share here. Here is the first:
Since New York inacted their wicked decree I have seen some posts by wellmeaning prolife/abolitionists reminding people that abortion at all ages is wicked. This is certainly true. It is murder anytime an innocent human life is willfully killed. I agree with the sentiment behind the posts but some of the posts come across as putting a damper on people’s outrage as if to say "why are you outraged at this, evil already happens." This is unhelpful. A true response to evil should be heartbreak and righteous anger. And when we see evil increase we are still yet heartbroken and outraged again. This does not lesson the fact that evil has already been occurring. But neither should we be callous to evil increasing.
This is part 2:
Psalm 97:10 Hate evil, you who love the Lord… 2 Corinthians 7:10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
