Mission & Core Values

MISSION

Sovereign King Academy comes alongside families to train young men and women to be fervent in spirit, mentally sharp, and prepared for duty through biblically modeled leadership, worldview integrated academics, and preparation for manhood and womanhood—all to the glory of God. (Mark 12:29-31)

CORE VALUES

Spiritual Fervency | Mental Sharpness
Biblical Manhood and Womanhood | Family Culture

In Mark 12:29-31, when Jesus was asked what was the foremost commandment, He summarized the Old Testament Law as He laid out the foundation for how Christians ought to live: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength… [and] You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Spiritual Fervency

Because Christians are to love God with all their heart and soul, Sovereign King Academy trains young men and women to be spiritually fervent. Students are exhorted to love God and neighbor and to bear the fruit of the Spirit through Bible study, prayer, scripture memory, and worship.

Mental Sharpness

Because Christians are to love God with all their mind, Sovereign King Academy trains young men and women to be mentally sharp. Students are challenged through our academically rigorous program, which includes history, science, literature, language arts, and mathematics as well as training in rhetoric, debate, public speaking, and personal evangelism—all taught with an integrated Christian worldview and an appreciation for God’s work in Western Civilization.

Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

Because Christians are to love God with all their strength, Sovereign King Academy trains young men and women to be prepared for biblical manhood and womanhood.

Young men are taught to be competent leaders as they prepare for the various callings God has for their lives (1 Cor. 16:13). They learn to be strong and self-disciplined along with what it means to be a leader in their home, church, vocation, and in the public square. They learn life skills as well as basic, age-appropriate trade skills such as woodworking, construction, auto maintenance, and technology along with how to properly use and care for the tools required for such tasks.

Young women are taught to be domestically competent as they prepare for the callings God has for their lives (Titus 2:5). They learn what it means to be caretakers of hearth and home as competent domestic managers, caregivers, and mothers. They also receive instruction in basic life and domestic skills such as home economics, sewing, cooking, cleaning, hospitality and budgeting.

Sovereign King Academy imparts to young people the skills needed to prepare them for life.

Family Culture

Because families are the seedbed of education, Sovereign King Academy comes alongside fathers and mothers to encourage family culture and promote the life of the home. We strive to keep academic demands on the home low while providing families the opportunity to incorporate additional educational elements tailored to the needs and interests of their particular families.
