Prayers of the Faithful

The prayers of God’s people are powerful and effective because we pray to the living God through Jesus Christ. Each Lord’s Day, we pray together for Christ’s Church, the work of gospel ministry, our civil leaders, and the needs before us. Use these requests in your prayers throughout the week.

Church
Pray for Christ the King Church in Evansville and for Pastor Jake Mentzel. Give thanks to God for his kindness in providing them a building to use and for the generosity of the owners as they continue to make needed updates. Ask the Lord to strengthen Pastor Jake and the elders with confidence, patience, and faith in Christ as they labor to shepherd the congregation. Pray that God would comfort them in the loss of key people, encourage the saints, grow them in holiness and love, and add five new families to the church.

Ministry
Pray for Cal Zastrow and his work in pro-life rescue ministry, evangelism, and missions to China and other places. Ask the Lord to bless his travels, provide the support he needs, protect and strengthen his family, and make his labors fruitful for the salvation of souls and the defense of the innocent. Pray that Christ would give him courage, wisdom, endurance, and joy in the work set before him.

Civil Magistrates
Pray for Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore. Ask God to grant him wisdom, courage, justice, and humility as he governs our city. Pray that he would not be led merely by what is popular, politically useful, or economically profitable, but by what is true, good, and right before God. Ask the Lord to bless Jeffersonville through faithful civil leadership and to restrain evil, protect the innocent, and promote peace and righteousness in our community.

The King’s Council

Sovereign King Church

The King’s Council is our quarterly men’s gathering: faithful men for hard times.

We live in confused times, and men need more than shallow answers, soft leadership, and surface-level religion. The King’s Council is a night of good food, strong teaching, honest conversation, earnest prayer, and real brotherhood.

This gathering is for men who want to grow in truth, courage, conviction, leadership, and faithfulness under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Whether you are curious about Christianity, hungry for stronger teaching, or ready to step up as a man, husband, father, or leader, there is a seat at the table for you.

Take your place at The King’s Council, and bring another man with you.
