Sunday School

Sunday School meets every Lord’s Day at 9:00 AM. We have Bible teaching for children, students, and adults before worship.

These are the regular rhythms of life at Sovereign King Church. Use this section to stay connected, plan ahead, and take your place in the life of the church.

Nursery

Nursery is available during the sermon on the first three Sundays of the month for children ages 1–3. The other Sundays, we invite the whole covenant community to join us throughout the entire service.

Giving

You can give online or place your tithes and offerings in the giving box at the entrance to the sanctuary.

Ladies’ Hour of Prayer

Ladies’ Hour of Prayer meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 PM.

Christian Student Fellowship

Christian Student Fellowship meets on the second Sunday of each month for young men and women, ages 13–22.

Early Risers Bible Study

Early Risers Bible Study meets Wednesdays at 6:00 AM at Elder Aaron Sabie’s home.

Geneva Pub

Geneva Pub is our monthly men’s gathering for fellowship, theology, discussion, and brotherhood. We gather the last Sunday evening of the month.

Lords and ladies, lads and lasses, saints young and old—the time has come to feast!

Dust off your merriment, bring your appetite, and gather with your church family for Sovereign King Church's 2026 All Hallows Reformation Feast!

As the world celebrates ghosts and goblins, we have something far better to celebrate: Christ has conquered death, the gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church, and the light of the gospel still shines!

This is a time to remember the faithful saints who have gone before us, the courageous Reformers who stood for the truth, and the mighty works of our God throughout the centuries. From the martyrs of the early Church to the thunder of the Reformation, we have a glorious heritage worth remembering—and passing on to our children!

And what better way to celebrate God's faithfulness than with a table full of food, the laughter of children, good fellowship, and a hearty feast?

Let the feasting begin!

This year, the church shall provide a royal spread of smoked chicken, macaroni and cheese, and a keg of local beer for the grown folk to enjoy responsibly.

But no proper feast is complete without the contributions of the whole village! We ask every family to bring BOTH:

• One gallon or two liters of your family's favorite nonalcoholic beverage.

• A side dish, dessert, or appetizer to share with the hungry multitude.

There shall be games for the children, food aplenty, laughter, fellowship, and opportunities to remember the great stories of God's faithfulness. Whether you're a wee little one or a gray-bearded elder, there will be something for everyone!

Why do we celebrate?

All Hallows' Eve, Reformation Day, and All Saints' Day remind us of something worth celebrating: We belong to a Church that stretches across centuries and generations, built upon Jesus Christ, our victorious King.

We remember those who came before us, give thanks for the recovery of the gospel during the Protestant Reformation, and rejoice that the same God who sustained His people then continues to build His Church today.

We are not merely remembering history. We are part of it. And by God's grace, we intend to pass this glorious inheritance on to our children and our children's children.

So bring the whole household! Invite a friend! Come hungry, come cheerful, and prepare for a wonderful afternoon of Christian fellowship and merriment.

The King reigns. The gospel endures. And the feast awaits!

An Exciting Season for Sovereign King Church

Dear brothers and sisters,

I want to take a few moments to share with you some exciting things happening behind the scenes at Sovereign King Church and give you a glimpse of where we believe the Lord is leading us in the coming year.

When Sovereign King Church began, we were just a handful of families gathering together with a desire to worship God faithfully, preach His Word boldly, and build strong Christian households. By God's grace, those few families have become many. Over the years, the Lord has steadily added to our number. We experienced significant growth during COVID, and we have continued to grow every year since.

Today, we have approximately 153 members, with more preparing to join. Our congregation is filled with families, children, young people, and saints of all ages. What a tremendous blessing from the Lord!

But with growth comes growing pains.

The reality is that many of the structures and processes we established when we were a much smaller church have not kept pace with our growth. Things that worked well when we were a handful of families don't necessarily work as well when we have more than 150 members. Communication becomes more complicated. Coordinating volunteers requires more organization. Welcoming visitors and helping them become connected to the life of the church takes greater intentionality. Making sure members are receiving proper care and finding opportunities for fellowship requires more thought and planning.

These are good problems to have! But they are problems that we need to address.

And that's exactly what your elders are working to do.

Over the past several months, we have been prayerfully considering how to strengthen our church for the years ahead. As part of that effort, we have begun partnering with an organization called Synergos XP, which helps churches evaluate their ministries, strengthen their leadership, and develop better structures for serving their congregations.

In particular, we have been working with John Westurn and Kara Grove.

John brings approximately 30 years of experience serving as an executive pastor. That means he has spent decades working behind the scenes in church leadership, helping congregations with administration, ministry organization, staff and volunteer coordination, and the many practical matters involved in running a healthy church. Kara works alongside him in an administrative support role, helping coordinate the details and keep the process moving forward.

Some of you may remember seeing John at church a few weeks ago. He visited us on a Sunday morning to observe our worship and get a firsthand look at our congregation.

I have actually been working with John and Kara for about two months now. During this time, we have been conducting what you might call a ministry and organizational assessment. We have been looking closely at how our church currently operates, identifying areas where we are doing well, recognizing places where we need improvement, and beginning to develop a plan for strengthening our ministries.

And I have to tell you, I am excited about what we are doing!

This is not simply a matter of bringing in outside consultants to tell us what kind of church we should be. The elders remain responsible for the direction and shepherding of this congregation. Rather, we are benefiting from the experience and practical wisdom of people who have spent years helping churches organize themselves to carry out their ministries more effectively.

I want you to know that we are taking this work seriously. We are not simply talking about making improvements. We are actively working toward them.

Some of the areas we are examining include:

• Hospitality and welcoming visitors: How can we do a better job of welcoming guests, helping them connect with our congregation, introducing them to the gospel, and guiding them toward membership?

• Communication: How can we communicate more clearly and consistently so that members know what is happening and how they can be involved?

• Volunteers and ministry responsibilities: How can we better organize our volunteers, clarify responsibilities, equip people for service, and prevent the same few people from carrying too much of the load?

• Fellowship and discipleship: How can we strengthen relationships within the congregation through small groups, men's and women's ministries, hospitality, and other opportunities for fellowship?

• Membership and pastoral care: How can we better shepherd the people God has entrusted to us, helping every member grow in faithfulness and ensuring that people do not get lost in the crowd?

• Preparing for future growth: How can we establish the structures necessary to welcome more families, reach more unbelievers, and faithfully disciple those whom the Lord brings into our midst?

There is much more we are considering, but I hope this gives you an idea of the work underway.

Now, I want to be very clear about something.

We are not looking to change the convictions that make Sovereign King Church what it is.

We are not moving away from strong biblical preaching, reverent worship, Reformed theology, or our commitment to proclaiming the whole counsel of God, even when it is unpopular. We are not abandoning our love for children, our commitment to strong Christian families, or our convictions concerning biblical masculinity and femininity. We are not looking to become a church that avoids hard truths in order to attract a crowd.

Quite the opposite!

We want to strengthen these things.

We want to be better at preaching the Word, better at shepherding families, better at discipling our children, better at caring for one another, and better at reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We want to see unbelievers converted, families strengthened, men raised up to lead faithfully, women encouraged in their God-given callings, children growing in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and every member equipped to serve Christ and His church.

Our goal is not simply to become a bigger church. Our goal is to become a more faithful, fruitful, and healthy church. And if the Lord is pleased to add more people to our number, we want to be prepared to receive and care for them well.

Over the next year or two, you will likely begin to see various adjustments in how we organize and carry out certain ministries. Some changes may be small. Others may be more noticeable. Some ideas will work wonderfully, and others may need further adjustment. We are going to be learning as we go.

I ask you to be patient with us through this process, but I also want to encourage you to be excited about it. Your elders are not content to simply maintain what we have. We want to build upon the good things the Lord has already done and prepare for what He may be pleased to do in the future.

And we need your help.

First, please pray for your elders. Pray that the Lord would give us wisdom, unity, humility, and courage as we make decisions. Pray that we would never confuse worldly measures of success with biblical faithfulness.

Second, pray for our congregation. Pray that our love for one another would deepen, that our fellowship would grow stronger, and that every member would increasingly see himself or herself as an important part of the body of Christ.

Third, be ready to serve. As we improve our structures and ministries, there will be opportunities for members to use their gifts in new ways. A healthy church is not built by a pastor or a handful of officers doing everything. It is built up as every member does his part, according to the grace God has given him (Ephesians 4:16).

Finally, I want to encourage you to look to the future with faith and hope.

When I think about where Sovereign King Church began and where the Lord has brought us, I am deeply thankful. We have seen His kindness again and again. We have seen families established, children born, sinners brought to repentance, and saints growing in grace.

And I believe there is much more work for us to do.

There are lost people in our community who need the gospel. There are families who need to be strengthened. There are children who need to be discipled. There are men who need to be equipped to lead. There are future generations for whom we ought to be building today.

By God's grace, we want Sovereign King Church to be ready for that work.

Thank you for your faithfulness, your prayers, and your love for this congregation. It is a joy to serve as your pastor, and I am excited about what lies ahead.

The Lord has been good to us. Let us labor faithfully with what He has entrusted to us, trusting Him to give the increase.
