Prayers of the Faithful
The prayers of God’s people are powerful and effective because we pray to the living God through Jesus Christ. Each Lord’s Day, we pray together for Christ’s Church, the work of gospel ministry, our civil leaders, and the needs before us. Use these requests in your prayers throughout the week.
Church
Pray for Trinity Presbyterian Church and for Pastor Andrew Dionne. Ask the Lord to bless their fellowship with unity, humility, love, and steadfastness in Christ. Pray that the saints would be encouraged, strengthened in the truth, and knit together in brotherly affection. Ask God to give Pastor Andrew extra wisdom, endurance, and strength as he shepherds the congregation, especially while their assistant pastor is helping with ministry work in Michigan for the summer. Pray that Christ would continue to build up Trinity Presbyterian Church in faithfulness, holiness, and love.
Ministry
Pray for Titus and Kris Folks and their work with Love Life Ministry. Ask the Lord to bless their labors in the defense of the unborn, the preaching of the gospel, and the calling of fathers and mothers to repentance and faith in Christ. Pray that God would strengthen their family, provide the financial support they need to give themselves fully to this work, and make their ministry fruitful for the saving of lives and souls. Ask the Lord to give them courage, wisdom, endurance, and joy as they stand for the innocent and proclaim the hope of Christ.
Civil Magistrates
Pray for Jeffersonville City Councilmember Dustin White. Ask God to grant him repentance, faith in Christ, wisdom, humility, and a true fear of the Lord. Pray that he would turn away from what is wicked and use his office to promote what is true, good, and righteous before God. Ask the Lord to restrain evil, protect the innocent, and bless Jeffersonville through civil leaders who honor justice, uphold righteousness, and serve the people under the authority of Christ the King.

Head of Household Meeting: Elder Election
On Sunday, July 5th, immediately following the worship service, we will hold a Head of Household meeting for the purpose of voting on Justin Govanis as a ruling elder of Sovereign King Church.
The office of elder is a serious and weighty calling in the life of the church. Elders are given by Christ to shepherd His flock, guard the doctrine and worship of the church, oversee the spiritual care of the saints, and help lead the congregation in faithfulness to the Word of God. A ruling elder serves alongside the teaching elder and the rest of the session in the government, discipline, and spiritual oversight of the church.
Justin Govanus has been in training for this office for more than two years. During that time, he has faithfully labored in the life of the church, completed the work assigned to him by the session, and undergone examination by the elders. After this process, the session is putting him forward and recommending him to the congregation for the office of ruling elder.
Heads of households within the congregation are encouraged to attend and participate in this important decision. In our congregation, a head of household is ordinarily a man who represents his household, though in cases such as widows or single women (not under the direct care of her father) who are members of the church, a woman may serve as the head of her household.
Over the next couple of weeks, we encourage the heads of households to speak with Justin, ask him questions, pray for wisdom, and prepare to vote in a way that honors Christ and serves the good of His church. Please make plans to stay after the service on July 5th for this important meeting.
The King’s Council
Saturday, September 26,2026
5:00 to 8:00 PM
Sovereign King Church
Our first King’s Council was a success. We had a great turn out. Good food. And a timely message. We are looking to build on that work with our next meeting in September. More details to come.
The King’s Council is our quarterly men’s gathering: faithful men for hard times.
We live in confused times, and men need more than shallow answers, soft leadership, and surface-level religion. The King’s Council is a night of good food, strong teaching, honest conversation, earnest prayer, and real brotherhood.
This gathering is for men who want to grow in truth, courage, conviction, leadership, and faithfulness under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Whether you are curious about Christianity, hungry for stronger teaching, or ready to step up as a man, husband, father, or leader, there is a seat at the table for you.
Take your place at The King’s Council, and bring another man with you.
