Frequently Asked Questions
We know that visiting a new church can be scary sometimes, and you probably have a ton of questions before you even step foot through its doors. We totally get it. That’s why we put together a list of some of our more frequently asked questions!
-
You will see people dressed in different ways. Some men wear suits or collared shirts. Others dress more casually. Some women wear dresses, and others dress more casually as well.
You do not need to dress a certain way to visit. Come respectfully and be ready to worship God.
-
Children are welcome at Sovereign King Church.
We have a lot of children, and we are thankful for that. We believe children are a gift and blessing from the Lord, not a distraction from worship. Families are meant to worship together, and children learn to worship by being with their parents and with the church.
If your children make some noise, do not panic. We understand. The sound of children learning to worship is a sign of life and a sign of a church with a future. You will not be the only family with little ones in the service.
For parents with very young children, we provide an optional nursery for children ages 1–3 during the sermon as they transition toward being in the full service. You are welcome to use it, but you are also welcome to keep your children with you.
We also offer Sunday School at 9:00 AM for children and adults.
Bring your whole family. We would be glad to have you.

Our worship service is rooted in Scripture and in the historic Christian faith. It is reverent, joyful, and participatory. We do not gather as spectators. We gather as God’s people to worship Him together.
During the service, we read Scripture, pray, sing, confess our sins, hear the assurance of God’s pardon, confess the Christian faith, hear the preaching of God’s Word, and partake of the Lord’s Supper.
You may be invited to stand, sit, kneel, confess, sing, pray, listen, and respond. If you are unable to participate in any posture, you are welcome to participate as you are able.
Our goal is not empty ritual or emotional hype. Our goal is worship in spirit and truth
-
We sing Psalms, hymns, and faithful songs of praise that exalt Christ and His Kingdom. Some are old, some are newer, but our goal is always to sing what is true, biblical, reverent, and full of praise to God.
We use instruments such as guitar and other accompaniment, but our focus is not a performance. Our focus is congregational singing, with men, women, and children lifting their voices together to worship the Lord.
You do not have to be a trained singer. Come ready to sing with reverence, joy, and strength.
-
We believe the Bible is the final authority for all of life. Therefore, preaching is central to our worship.
Faithful preaching does not merely entertain, flatter, or offer vague inspiration. God commands ministers to preach the Word, to reprove, rebuke, exhort, and instruct with patience. Through the preaching of Scripture, God convicts sinners, strengthens His people, exposes lies, heals wounds, and points us again and again to Jesus Christ.
At Sovereign King Church, you can expect preaching that is biblical, direct, Christ-centered, and aimed at real life.
-
es. We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every week.
The Lord’s Supper is a sacred sign and seal of Christ’s fellowship with His people. It reminds us of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who gave His body and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Those who have been baptized, have made a credible profession of faith, are members of a Bible-believing church in good standing, and are not living in unrepentant sin are invited to partake.
This meal is not an empty ritual. It is a means of grace, strengthening our faith and deepening our communion with Christ and with one another.
-
After worship, many people stay to talk, ask questions, meet visitors, and encourage one another. We would be glad to meet you, answer questions, and help you get connected.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you visit. Come worship with us, hear the Word of God, and see what the Lord is doing at Sovereign King Church.
