Sunday School: A Place for Your Whole Family to Grow
At Sovereign King Church, we believe learning God’s Word is for all ages. Sunday School is a time for children, teens, and adults to grow in their knowledge of Scripture, strengthen their faith, and build relationships in the church.
This is not just a program to fill time before worship. It is one of the ways we seek to equip the whole congregation to know God, love His Word, and live faithfully before Him.
Sunday School meets every Sunday from 9:00 to 9:50 AM.
Come early, grab some coffee, bring your family, and join us as we study God’s Word together.
Sunday School Classes (9:00 – 9:50 AM):
Nursery (Up to 2 Years Old) –For our youngest saints, we provide a safe and caring place with vetted volunteers while parents attend class.
Ages 3-5 – Our little ones learn the great stories of the Bible, sing songs of the faith, and begin learning basic truths about God, creation, sin, Jesus, obedience, and faith.
Ages 6-12 –Children dig into the Bible and learn the big story of Scripture. We want them to know the heroes, the battles, the promises, the warnings, the miracles, and the gospel thread that runs from Genesis to Revelation, all pointing us to Jesus Christ.
Ages 13-18 – This class is for young men and women who are growing up and learning to take the Word seriously for themselves. They spend time in fellowship, talk through the previous week’s sermon, ask questions, learn how to listen well, and prepare to hear the sermon for the current Lord’s Day. We want them engaged, thinking, ready, and growing into faithful Christian adulthood.
Adults – Adults receive focused teaching from the pastors and elders of Sovereign King Church. These classes are meant to strengthen grown men and women for real life: knowing the Bible, understanding doctrine, growing in wisdom, leading homes, serving the church, and standing firm in the world. We cover Scripture, theology, church history, Christian living, the Westminster Standards, and the practical questions Christians face every day.
Why Come to Sunday School?
We live in a time when many people do not know their Bibles. Many children are growing up without knowing the great stories of Scripture, the old Sunday School songs, the basic doctrines of the faith, or how the whole Bible points to Jesus Christ.
We want to be different. We want our children to know the Bible. We want them to sing the songs of the faith. We want them to know about creation, the fall, the flood, Abraham, Moses, David, the prophets, the birth of Christ, His death, His resurrection, His ascension, and His return. We want them to know the gospel and grow up with the Word of God stored in their hearts.
But Sunday School is not only for children. Adults need the Word too. We all need to keep learning, keep growing, and keep being sharpened by Scripture. God’s Word is living and powerful, and Sunday School is one more way we give ourselves to it together.
